Renan Santos, the Mission Party nominee and MBL co-founder, sits in low single digits in recent national first-round polling for Brazil’s October 4, 2026 presidential election, reflecting a polarized contest dominated by incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro. Surveys from August and September, including Datafolha, Quaest, PoderData, and BTG/Nexus, place him between 3% and 4%, with occasional higher readings in specific scenarios or among younger voters. His candidacy was unanimously validated by the TSE in mid-September after an earlier temporary suspension over reporting issues, allowing resumption of advertising and fund access. Limited name recognition outside activist circles, competition from other centre-right figures such as Ronaldo Caiado and Augusto Cury, and structural challenges for a new party with minimal congressional presence continue to constrain broader momentum ahead of the vote.
