The Baja California gubernatorial contest for 2027 remains in its early phase, centered on Morena’s internal candidate selection process involving multiple registered figures from state and municipal leadership. Recent surveys, including one from early August 2026, show Ismael Burgueño Ruiz holding the strongest position among potential contenders at roughly 31 percent support, ahead of others such as Julieta Ramírez Padilla. Trader odds reflect this fragmented field, with probabilities staying compressed due to the absence of a finalized nominee, limited public polling, and the influence of party coordination mechanisms. Upcoming internal polling results or formal endorsements could widen gaps by clarifying frontrunner momentum ahead of the June 2027 election.
