The crowded field for Rio de Janeiro’s two Senate seats has produced tightly matched probabilities among leading contenders, with trader consensus reflecting a fragmented contest two months before the October vote. Flávio Bolsonaro’s shift to the presidential race vacated a prominent right-leaning position and dispersed support across multiple candidates, including Marcelo Crivella, Carlos Portinho, and others from parties such as Republicanos, PL, and PSD. Recent polling indicates Benedita da Silva maintains an edge for one seat, yet the second remains open amid limited surveys since July and elevated voter indecision. Overlapping regional bases, high rejection rates for several names, and the absence of a clear frontrunner sustain the equilibrium. Developments such as new state-level surveys, party alliances, or late campaign events could widen gaps before election day.
