Argentina's monthly inflation print for August 2026, due from INDEC around September 10, sits at a near-even split between the 1.5-1.7% and 1.8-2.0% bins amid ongoing disinflation under tight fiscal and monetary conditions. July's 2.1% month-on-month reading (33.8% year-on-year) surprised to the upside after June's 1.9%, reflecting persistent pressures from regulated prices and lingering effects of earlier energy shocks, even as the BCRA's inflation-linked FX band and reserve purchases have supported peso stability. Analysts' median forecasts point to a modest pullback toward 1.8%, consistent with the broader trajectory toward a 29-30% year-end annual rate, though core components and seasonal factors could sustain momentum near the higher bin. Market-implied odds capture this narrow uncertainty, with traders weighting recent data revisions and policy continuity against the risk of renewed volatility ahead of the release.
