Persistent onshore westerly flow and a strengthening marine layer are keeping San Francisco temperatures moderated near seasonal norms on August 29. National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate partly cloudy skies with highs centered in the mid-60s, supported by 10–20 mph winds that enhance mixing and limit afternoon warming. Recent cooling from mid-week warmth reflects a deepening trough and increased coastal influence, reducing the likelihood of readings reaching the upper 60s or low 70s. Historical August averages near 69°F provide context, yet current guidance favors 66–67°F as the most probable maximum while leaving room for minor forecast adjustments from updated model runs or wind variations.
