This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the NJ-12 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on June 2, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Dr. Adam Hamawy holds a commanding lead in the June 2 Democratic primary for New Jersey’s 12th congressional district, driven by his record fundraising exceeding $1 million and heavy independent expenditure support from pro-Palestine groups that have saturated the airwaves. A mid-May poll placed him ahead of the rest of the crowded 13-candidate field, reflecting his financial edge and veteran profile in a district vacated by retiring Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman. Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson draws backing from labor unions and Mercer County committees, while East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen benefits from Middlesex party support and Susan Altman holds local endorsements, yet neither has matched Hamawy’s resource advantage. The market pricing captures the structural difficulty any challenger faces in overcoming such spending disparities before primary day.
