In the Vanier-Les Rivières riding, a tight contest among Coalition Avenir Québec candidate Françoise Faverjon-Fortin, Parti Québécois candidate Stéphanie Martin, Parti conservateur du Québec candidate Patrick Paquet, and Liberal candidate Charles Hudon reflects the broader provincial dynamics ahead of the October 5, 2026, general election. Recent riding projections from aggregators place the top three parties within a few points of each other in this Quebec City area district, where the retiring CAQ incumbent previously won comfortably. Local candidate profiles, including Paquet’s municipal experience, combined with shifting regional support among francophone voters and the absence of a clear frontrunner in early campaign polling, sustain the even trader consensus across leading options. Developments such as further regional polling shifts or candidate debates before the September 17 nomination deadline could begin to separate the field.
