National Weather Service and private forecast models converge on a high near 97°F for Dallas on September 21, driven by mostly sunny skies, light winds, and elevated dew points producing heat indices above 100°F, though a 30% afternoon thunderstorm chance could limit peak readings. This setup sits well above the 1991–2020 average high of 88°F for the date. Trader consensus centers on the 94–97°F bins because model guidance shows limited variability once morning heating begins, with only modest downside risk from convective cooling or upside potential if storms hold off. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs will refine whether the high settles in the mid- or upper-90s before resolution.
