Recent polls place Vänsterpartiet and Miljöpartiet within a percentage point of each other at roughly 6–7 percent, reflecting their overlapping appeal to left-leaning voters focused on welfare expansion and climate policy ahead of the September 13 parliamentary election. Both parties operate within the broader red-green opposition bloc that currently leads the governing Tidö parties, yet they compete directly for the same marginal supporters. Minor fluctuations in recent surveys, such as those from Novus and Demoskop, underscore how small shifts in turnout among younger or urban voters, or emphasis on environmental versus redistribution priorities during the final campaign weeks, could determine which party finishes ahead. No major distinguishing events have emerged in the past month to widen the gap.
