Recent August data showing 1.7% monthly inflation—the lowest in 14 months—has anchored trader expectations for September around the 1.6-2.1% range amid continued fiscal discipline and a stable peso under the Milei administration. Core readings near 1.8% and analyst surveys projecting 1.8% for September reflect persistent but moderating price pressures from regulated items and food, while year-to-date accumulation stands at 21.3% and annual inflation eases to 33.5%. The closely matched probabilities between the 1.6-1.8% and 1.9-2.1% bins highlight uncertainty over seasonal rebounds and any acceleration in housing or utility costs. Key upcoming catalysts include the mid-October INDEC release and central bank REM updates that could clarify whether the sub-2% trajectory holds into year-end.
