Caroline Elliott holds a strong lead in the Conservative Party of British Columbia leadership contest, reflecting trader consensus on her established profile as a policy advocate and former BC United vice-president amid a field narrowed to five candidates. The race, set to conclude with results on May 30, follows the party's membership expansion to over 42,000 ahead of ballot distribution in early May. Recent debates have centered on ideological differences, land-use policies, and provincial priorities, with Elliott's emphasis on economic renewal and opposition to the NDP government appearing to consolidate support. Trailing candidates such as Kerry-Lynne Findlay and Yuri Fulmer maintain narrower backing tied to their federal experience and business backgrounds, while procedural requirements and member verification continue to shape final positioning.
