Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads trader consensus for the next Quebec premier at 64 percent, driven by the Parti Québécois’s sustained polling advantage ahead of the October 2026 general election. Recent leadership transitions have reshaped the field: Christine Fréchette secured the Coalition Avenir Québec leadership in April and assumed the premiership, yet the party remains mired in single digits while the Parti Québécois holds a narrow edge over the Liberals. Charles Milliard’s February acclamation as Liberal leader has consolidated that party’s position at roughly 28–32 percent support, but the Parti Québécois’s stronger trajectory among nationalist voters continues to anchor market pricing. Traders view Plamondon’s durable lead in provincial surveys as the primary factor elevating his implied probability well above rivals.
