Dexter McCoy holds a commanding lead in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026, Fort Bend County Judge election due to his status as the Democratic nominee in a county with recent Democratic gains in local races. McCoy, the Precinct 4 commissioner since 2023, secured the nomination after winning the March primary and May runoff against Rachelle Carter. His opponent, Republican Daniel Wong, advanced from the GOP primary but faces low odds amid ongoing disputes over his interim appointment following the suspension and primary defeat of former judge KP George, who was convicted of felony money laundering. Legal challenges from Democratic commissioners questioning Wong’s authority after a related civil suit was dismissed have reinforced perceptions of McCoy’s stronger position heading into the general election.
