**Édouard Philippe holds a sustained polling edge over Gabriel Attal within France’s centrist and center-right space ahead of the 2027 presidential election.** Multiple surveys from June through late August 2026, including Ifop and Elabe barometers, show Philippe drawing 19–21% as the bloc’s sole candidate compared with Attal’s 12–15%, with the gap widening when both run concurrently. Philippe benefits from stronger consolidation of Macron-era and moderate-right voters, while Attal’s support remains more narrowly tied to Renaissance loyalists. Recent catalysts include Attal’s May 2026 candidacy launch, Philippe’s July rally, and the August 27 multi-candidate debate, alongside Attal’s calls for an internal primary amid minor late-August fluctuations. Traders price the outcome as reflecting these persistent first-round differentials and limited crossover between the two former prime ministers’ bases.
