Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for New York City indicates an overnight low near 70°F on September 18, driven by persistent southerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front, combined with increased cloud cover and dew points in the mid-60s that limit radiational cooling. This setup aligns with the market's leading 70-71°F bin at 45.5% implied probability, as current conditions remain above the 1991-2020 climatological average low of 60.8°F. Minor downward revisions remain possible if clearer skies develop overnight, while warmer outcomes would require stronger warm advection; updated NWS and global model runs through Friday morning represent the next key data points for traders.
