Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble guidance indicate a mild overnight low of 67–70°F for New York City on September 9 under persistent high pressure and southwesterly flow advecting warmer Gulf air. This pattern has kept recent Central Park minima in the mid-to-upper 60s, several degrees above the early-September climatological average of roughly 62–64°F. Model consensus shows limited overnight cooling due to cloud cover and boundary-layer moisture, with only modest spread around 68–72°F. The market’s heavy weighting toward 68–73°F therefore reflects these official outlooks and the absence of any incoming cold front or clear-sky radiative cooling that could push readings lower before resolution.
