Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the market at 64.5% because recent polls show his Parti Québécois maintaining a narrow edge or tie for first place ahead of the October 2026 general election, fueled by sustained strength among francophone voters and four consecutive byelection wins. François Legault’s January resignation opened the door for Christine Fréchette to become CAQ leader and premier in April, yet the party’s support remains depressed near 16% despite modest gains under her. Charles Milliard’s February acclamation as Quebec Liberal leader has lifted that party to roughly 28-32% in surveys, narrowing the gap in Montreal and anglophone areas but leaving seat projections still favoring the PQ. Éric Duhaime and the other minor-party leaders trail far behind amid limited movement in the five-party race.
