This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-09 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The crowded Republican primary for Florida's redrawn 9th Congressional District remains tightly contested ahead of the August 18 vote, with a recent Victory Insights poll of likely primary voters showing Jorge Martinez, Ben Butler, and Thomas Chalifoux statistically tied near 14% each and Dan Green within the margin of error at 12%, alongside more than 40% undecided. The new map has shifted the seat into a stronger position for GOP challengers seeking to unseat Democratic incumbent Darren Soto, but the large field of candidates with varied backgrounds in farming, military service, education, and business has fragmented support and limited name recognition gains. Recent endorsements and targeted outreach among undecided voters represent the main near-term factors that could consolidate backing and widen the gap among the leaders.
