**Current forecasts from sources like the National Weather Service and private models indicate overnight lows in the mid-70s°F for Chicago on August 30, 2026, driven by persistent southerly flow and limited radiative cooling.** Warm, humid air advected from the south maintains elevated dew points near 60–65°F, while partly to mostly cloudy skies and 10–15 mph south-southwest winds inhibit strong nighttime temperature drops. This setup favors minimum temperatures clustering in the 72–75°F range, aligning with market-implied odds that heavily weight the 70–75°F bins. Climatologically, the date averages a low near 64°F, so the current anomaly reflects a stalled warm pattern without incoming cooler air masses or clear-sky conditions that would promote greater cooling. Model consensus shows only modest spread, with any scattered showers or increased cloud cover potentially shaving a degree or two from the minimum, while clearer breaks could push it slightly higher. Traders appear to be pricing this narrow uncertainty band, with probabilities distributed across adjacent bins rather than a single dominant outcome. The resolution will hinge on official observations, likely from Chicago O’Hare or Midway, with the daily minimum typically occurring just before sunrise.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
