Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance indicate a minimum temperature near 70°F for New York City on September 18, driven by mild southerly flow, elevated dew points near 65°F, and persistent cloud cover that limits nocturnal radiative cooling. This pattern follows several days of above-normal warmth and humidity, with recent observations showing overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Trader consensus, reflected in the heavy weighting toward 70-73°F outcomes, aligns closely with this consensus forecast while assigning lower probability to cooler readings that would require clearer skies or a sharper cold front. Updated model runs and official overnight observations through early September 18 remain the key near-term variables.
