Recent August data showing 1.7% month-over-month inflation, the lowest in 14 months and matching analyst forecasts, has reinforced expectations for continued disinflation in September under President Milei’s policies. A stable peso, easing core pressures at 1.8%, and subdued demand have supported the downtrend from July’s 2.1%, though price inertia and regulated tariff adjustments in housing and utilities introduce upside risks. With the two leading bins closely contested at 47.5% and 41.5% implied probability, traders weigh persistent moderation against seasonal or food-driven rebounds, as year-to-date inflation stands at 21.3% and annual rates hover near 33.5%. The next INDEC release in mid-October remains the key catalyst.
