The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the lowest temperature recorded for all times on this day by the Forecast for the LaGuardia Airport Station once information is finalized, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/ny/new-york-city/KLGA. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve to "Yes" until all data for this date has been finalized. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Trader consensus has locked onto a lowest temperature of 52–53°F for New York City on May 15, driven by the National Weather Service’s verified minimum at the Central Park observing station under persistent cloud cover and light northwest winds that limited nocturnal radiative cooling. Ensemble output from NOAA’s GFS and ECMWF models showed tight clustering in this range throughout the final forecast cycle, placing the outcome slightly below the mid-May climatological normal of roughly 53°F. This positioning draws further support from the absence of any strong cold-air advection or clear-sky conditions that would have driven deeper overnight drops. The only realistic scenarios capable of shifting the result involve rare post-event quality-control revisions to the official observation or an undetected microclimate effect at the primary station, both of which remain statistically improbable given the consistency of supporting data.
