This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the FL-20 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Debbie Wasserman Schultz holds a dominant position in the August 18, 2026 Democratic primary for Florida's 20th Congressional District due to her long incumbency, fundraising edge, and established party infrastructure following redistricting that moved her into the seat. Elijah Manley, a younger progressive organizer and substitute teacher, has narrowed the gap modestly in recent polling by emphasizing issues such as healthcare access, jobs, and generational change, while securing endorsements from figures like Rep. Ro Khanna. The remaining candidates, including former Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Luther Campbell, Dale Holness, and others, show negligible support in available surveys and have fragmented the anti-incumbent vote. With the primary only days away, trader consensus reflects the structural advantages of name recognition and organizational strength over challengers in a heavily Democratic district.
