This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Buckley Space Force Base Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 31 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kbkf This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecast models and official guidance from the National Weather Service place Denver’s expected high on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the low-to-mid 80s Fahrenheit, centered near 83–85 °F.** This aligns with the market’s three leading bins (82–83 °F at 34 %, 84–85 °F at 28 %, 80–81 °F at 24 %), which together capture the bulk of trader-implied probability. The primary driver is the anticipated arrival of increased moisture and cloud cover ahead of afternoon thunderstorms, with NWS forecasts citing a 40–50 % chance of showers and storms after noon. This setup typically limits peak heating by reducing incoming solar radiation and triggering evaporative cooling once convection begins. Recent model runs show modest day-to-day cooling from the hotter conditions observed over the preceding weekend (highs 88–93 °F), consistent with a gradual shift in steering flow and the seasonal decline in solar angle. Key differentiating factors among the close outcomes include the precise timing and coverage of afternoon convection: earlier or more widespread storms would favor the lower bins (80–83 °F), while delayed or isolated activity could allow temperatures to briefly reach the mid-80s before cooling. Dew-point levels near 50–55 °F and light variable winds are expected to keep the atmosphere only marginally unstable, adding further uncertainty to the exact maximum. Historical climatology (1991–2020 normals) shows an average high of ~84.5 °F on this date, so the current consensus reflects a slightly cooler-than-normal pattern driven by the storm threat. Updated model guidance and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will be the main catalysts for any shifts in market pricing.
