Official National Weather Service forecasts for September 2 indicate a high in the mid-60s under increasing cloud cover and rain, with probabilities of precipitation reaching 90% during the day. This pattern follows warmer, partly sunny conditions on September 1 and reflects southerly flow advecting cooler marine air while widespread cloudiness and precipitation limit solar heating and diurnal temperature rise. Model consensus supports a peak near 64–67°F, with the close split between the two leading market bins reflecting uncertainty in exact timing and intensity of showers versus breaks in cloud cover. Historical September averages near 74°F underscore how this synoptic setup deviates from typical clear-weather maxima.
