**Trader consensus heavily favors an 82-83°F low in Dallas on September 5, reflecting a strong warm air mass and elevated minimum temperatures amid a late-summer heat wave.** Official National Weather Service observations recorded a minimum near 79°F under clear skies and light southerly winds, consistent with recent days when overnight lows remained in the upper 70s to low 80s as daytime highs reached 100°F. This pattern stems from above-normal soil moisture deficits, suppressed cloud cover, and a persistent subtropical ridge that limited radiational cooling, pushing the daily low well above the 1991-2020 September 5 climatological normal of about 74°F. Market-implied odds above 90% for the 82-83°F bin align with pre-event model guidance and early station reports emphasizing these conditions, though final resolution hinges on the precise official reading from the primary DFW airport station. A sudden shift in wind or unforecast moisture could have lowered the minimum into the upper 70s, but such changes did not materialize.
