Traders have converged on a 24°C minimum for Tokyo on August 16 due to official forecasts from the Japan Meteorological Agency and consistent model guidance showing overnight lows near the long-term August average of 23–24°C under typical humid subtropical conditions. High daytime readings around 31°C and scattered showers have not produced the stronger nocturnal cooling sometimes seen with clearer skies or typhoon influences, keeping the expected minimum aligned with climatological baselines. Minor forecast adjustments could still shift the recorded low if cloud cover or wind patterns change overnight, though current observational trends and historical August data strongly support the market-implied outcome.
