The Quebec general election on October 5 features a tight contest in Vanier-Les Rivières after the retirement of the incumbent CAQ MNA. Recent 338Canada projections place the Conservative Party of Quebec (CPQ/PCQ) candidate Patrick Paquet narrowly ahead at around 30 percent support, followed closely by CAQ nominee Françoise Faverjon-Fortin at 27 percent and Parti Québécois candidate Stéphanie Martin at 24 percent, with Liberals and Québec solidaire trailing. This reflects broader provincial polling trends showing PQ gains province-wide alongside PCQ strength in the Quebec City region, where local issues like fiscal policy and municipal experience factor into voter assessments. The nomination deadline of September 17 and final weeks of campaigning, including advance polls, leave room for shifts based on turnout and targeted outreach in this competitive riding. Trader consensus reflects the narrow margins and uncertainty typical of such multi-candidate races.
