Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance for Austin project a mostly sunny Monday with a high near 99°F under southerly flow of 5-10 mph and minimal cloud cover. This consensus centers market-implied odds on the 98-99°F bin at 44.5%, just ahead of 100-101°F at 38%, reflecting typical uncertainty in peak afternoon mixing and boundary-layer heating. With August climatology showing an average high of 94.6°F and a long-term record of 106°F, the current setup favors values near or slightly above normal due to persistent high pressure and negligible rain chances. Subtle differences in dew-point advection or localized heating could tip the daily maximum across the 100°F threshold, while any unexpected increase in mid-level moisture would cap it lower. Traders await the next NWS update and afternoon model runs for clearer signals before resolution.
