Recent National Weather Service guidance highlights a strengthening marine layer and onshore flow over the Bay Area, with cloud cover and a 30-50% chance of drizzle or light rain on September 3 suppressing daytime heating and favoring highs near 64-69°F. Persistent cold Pacific waters and typical September steering patterns limit afternoon warming compared to the 69.7°F climatological average, while model spread on marine layer depth and any late-day clearing creates the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 68-71°F. Updated short-range forecasts and observational data through September 2 will refine these thresholds ahead of resolution.
