Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance indicate a Thursday night low in the upper 60s for downtown Los Angeles, supported by a persistent marine layer and light onshore flow that limits radiative cooling. This places the most likely outcome near 67–69 °F, above the 1991–2020 September 24 climatological average of roughly 62 °F. Key variables still in play include the depth and timing of the marine layer overnight and any late-day clearing that could allow slightly greater cooling. With resolution less than 48 hours away, the next NWS forecast update and high-resolution model runs will provide the clearest signal on whether the low settles in the mid-to-upper 60s or edges lower under stronger onshore influence.
