This market will resolve to "Yes" if a new country accepts an invitation to join BRICS between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only new member states, not new partner states, will be considered toward this market's resolution. The primary resolution source for this country will be information from BRICS members (e.g., https://brics.br/en/about-the-brics, etc.); however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Recent expansions have brought BRICS to 11 full members, including Indonesia's formal entry in early 2025, alongside a new tier of 10 partner countries designated in 2025. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in May 2026 that the group would not rush additional full memberships, prioritizing integration and operational streamlining after rapid prior growth. With India holding the 2026 chair, attention has centered on institutional consolidation rather than new accessions, despite ongoing interest from dozens of applicants. This sequence of completed enlargements and explicit caution on timelines underpins the strong trader consensus against any new full member joining during the remainder of the year.
