Lula maintains a leading position among traders for first place in Ceará’s October 2026 first-round presidential vote, reflecting the state’s traditional support for Workers’ Party candidates in the Northeast. Recent national polling shows Lula widening his edge over Flávio Bolsonaro following controversies involving the senator’s recorded requests for campaign-related funds and a temporary public rift with Michelle Bolsonaro that later reconciled. Opposition fragmentation across multiple right-leaning figures, including Zema, Caiado, and Marçal, along with local factors such as alliances involving Ceará Senator Eduardo Girão, has limited any single challenger’s ability to consolidate votes. Scheduled first-round balloting on October 4 leaves room for shifts driven by further campaign events, regional economic messaging, or late endorsements that could alter the current tight distribution of implied probabilities.
