**Kosovo’s presidential election requires an Assembly majority of at least 80 votes out of 120, typically necessitating cross-party consensus rather than a simple partisan win.** Vjosa Osmani’s term ended in April 2026, leaving Speaker Albulena Haxhiu as acting president; a new president must be chosen by early October 2026 to avoid further snap elections. The June 2026 parliamentary vote left Vetëvendosje (VV) as the largest party but without a governing majority, forcing ongoing talks between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku. These discussions have moved from general principles to concrete candidate names, with traders pricing a fragmented field headed by Justina Pula. Earlier VV proposals such as Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha remain in play alongside independents and figures from prior legislatures like Veton Surroi. This produces closely matched odds across multiple contenders, reflecting uncertainty over which compromise name can secure the necessary bipartisan or multi-party support. Fresh developments in the Kurti–Abdixhiku channel—such as a joint endorsement or public disagreement—would likely widen spreads quickly.

This market will resolve to the next individual who begins a full, non-acting term as President of Kosovo after April 4, 2026.
To count for resolution, the individual must be elected President by the Assembly of Kosovo and take the presidential oath before the Assembly. Serving as acting, interim, or caretaker President alone will not count toward the resolution of this market, regardless of any change in who exercises those duties.
If no such President takes office by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the Assembly of Kosovo and the Office of the President of Kosovo; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
