Gubernatorial elections are currently scheduled to be held in Belgorod Oblast on September 20, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2026 Belgorod Oblast gubernatorial elections. Any interim or caretaker Governor will not qualify. This market includes any potential second round. If the results are not known definitively by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Belgorod Oblast and Russia, including the Election Commission of Belgorod Oblast and the Central Election Commission of Russia.Alexander Shuvaev holds a commanding lead in the Belgorod Oblast gubernatorial election market as the acting governor appointed by President Vladimir Putin in May 2026 following Vyacheslav Gladkov’s resignation. A native of the region, decorated major general, and Hero of the Russian Federation, Shuvaev benefits from Kremlin endorsement and United Russia party structures ahead of the September 18–20 vote, which coincides with federal legislative elections. Russian regional gubernatorial contests have historically produced strong results for presidentially backed incumbents through established administrative resources and limited viable opposition. The five registered challengers—Valery Shevlyakov (CPRF), Yevgeny Dremov (LDPR), Vladimir Abelmazov (A Just Russia), Artyom Zotov (Party of Pensioners), and others—register minimal implied probabilities. Early voting reports of organized ballot activity in favor of the incumbent align with this trader consensus, though official results from the regional election commission will determine resolution.
