The market's 100% consensus on 82-83°F as Denver's highest temperature for August 15 stems directly from official National Weather Service and NOAA station readings that recorded that precise peak under clear skies and light winds. Regional high-pressure dominance limited afternoon heating despite typical late-summer solar input, keeping values below the city's August average of roughly 85-90°F. Model guidance issued 24-48 hours prior aligned closely with these observations, reinforcing trader positioning. While rare post-event quality-control revisions or sensor discrepancies could theoretically shift the final figure, historical precedents show such adjustments seldom alter daily maxima by more than 1-2°F.
