The pending July 2026 appeal ruling on Marine Le Pen's embezzlement conviction and associated public-office ban remains the dominant factor shaping trader views on the National Rally nominee for the 2027 presidential election. With the decision looming, recent opinion polls continue to show Jordan Bardella leading first-round scenarios by wide margins, while local election gains and outreach to business leaders have reinforced his position as the party's de facto frontrunner. Le Pen's continued public role keeps her in contention at lower probability, though any upheld ineligibility would likely shift the nomination decisively. Multiple-candidate outcomes stay minimal amid unified party messaging around a single standard-bearer.
