Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model consensus point to a Chicago high in the low to mid-70s on September 14, as a post-frontal cooler air mass advects southeastward under moderate winds. This setup favors the closely matched 70–73°F market buckets, with outcomes differentiated by afternoon cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, and any lingering moisture that could cap or boost peak readings. Current guidance sits several degrees below the September 14 climatological average high near 77°F. Traders will watch updated NWS briefings and high-resolution model runs over the next 48 hours for refinements ahead of resolution.
