National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model runs position mid-90s highs as the most likely outcome for Houston on September 16, with consensus pointing to mostly sunny skies, light east-to-southeast winds, and minimal cloud cover or precipitation that would suppress daytime heating. Current conditions feature above-average warmth, with recent days reaching 94–96°F amid elevated dew points that sustain heat indices above 105°F. Historical September averages near 89°F provide context for the elevated baseline, while the absence of incoming fronts or tropical moisture keeps temperatures anchored in the 94–95°F range. Minor model spreads allow limited probability for 96–97°F peaks if insolation strengthens further before resolution.
