This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Maine, scheduled to take place on June 9, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Maine Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Maine Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Recent polling has positioned Nirav Shah as the frontrunner in the June 9 Democratic primary for Maine governor, with surveys from late April and early May showing him ahead on both first-choice and ranked-choice ballots. Shah’s background as former director of the Maine CDC and a senior CDC official has drawn support around public health and housing affordability, key voter concerns alongside property taxes and opposition to federal policies. Troy Jackson, the former Senate president with strong rural and labor ties, follows closely in trader pricing, while Hannah Pingree, Shenna Bellows, and Angus King III trail amid a civil campaign featuring multiple debates. Maine’s ranked-choice voting system keeps the contest fluid, as any of the five declared candidates could consolidate preferences in later rounds.
