Recent polls ahead of the September 6, 2026 Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election show the AfD holding a commanding lead near 41-43 percent, while the CDU trails at 22-24 percent and The Left sits around 13 percent. This stable gap has driven trader consensus toward the CDU for second place. The AfD's strength reflects sustained support in eastern states amid national trends favoring the party on immigration and economic issues. The CDU, as the incumbent governing party under Minister-President Sven Schulze, maintains a consistent second-place position with no major recent shifts from polling aggregators or party statements. Late-campaign events such as unexpected turnout changes among key voter blocs or last-minute developments could theoretically alter rankings, though current evidence indicates limited scope for such movement before election day.
