**Official forecasts from Singapore's Meteorological Service (MSS) released September 16 point to daily maxima of 33–34°C on most days through late September, with potential for 35°C on isolated days, under prevailing southwest monsoon conditions that favor afternoon thundery showers.** These showers, expected to increase in frequency and coverage during the second half of the month, introduce convective cooling that often limits peak readings despite the warm, humid baseline. Recent data show the first half of September already featured 12 days above 34°C, with a 35.3°C record at Sembawang on September 9, establishing elevated starting conditions. Specific model runs for September 19 currently cluster around 31–32°C with shower chances, aligning with market-implied probabilities favoring those outcomes over higher extremes. Traders weigh the balance between regional warmth and localized rainfall suppression ahead of the day's resolution.
