Colorado's 8th congressional district remains a top battleground in the 2026 midterms after Republicans flipped the seat by under one point in 2024. Incumbent Gabe Evans secured the Republican nomination without opposition in the June 30 primary, while Manny Rutinel emerged as the Democratic nominee following a competitive primary that featured multiple candidates and recent polling showing him ahead. Forecasters from outlets including Decision Desk HQ and others currently rate the race as leaning or tilting Democratic, citing the district's even partisan split, fundraising activity by the DCCC, and the broader national environment. Traders appear to assign the Democratic Party a strong edge based on these structural and recent primary developments heading into the November general election.
