Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on August 29, 2026, call for a high near 80°F under mostly to partly cloudy skies with a slight afternoon chance of sprinkles and southwest winds around 10 mph. These conditions limit surface heating and convective development, holding maximum temperatures in the lower 80s rather than allowing stronger warming from incoming southerly flow. Model consensus and observational trends show no significant heat advection or clear-sky insolation to push readings into the mid-80s or higher today, consistent with the market’s heavy weighting toward the 80–81°F bin. Warmer air and higher heat indices arrive later in the weekend as a warm front shifts through the region.
