Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 4 point to partly sunny skies with afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely, supporting highs in the low 90s amid high humidity and heat indices near 105°F. Afternoon convection and cloud cover represent the key variables that could suppress peak temperatures toward the upper 80s if storms develop earlier or more extensively than modeled, aligning with the market's tight clustering around 88–91°F. Light easterly winds and lingering moisture from prior days add uncertainty to solar heating rates, while the climatological average high of 91°F provides baseline context. Updated model runs and local observations through the morning will clarify whether conditions trend cooler or allow readings to reach the low 90s.
