Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a warm, humid airmass with overnight lows near 70–74°F for Chicago on September 5, driven by southwesterly flow ahead of a weak front and limited nocturnal cooling under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lake Michigan moderation and any timing shifts in showers or easterly winds introduce uncertainty in the exact minimum, spreading implied probabilities evenly across the 65–79°F bins. Historical September 5 averages near 63°F highlight the current anomaly, while short-range ensemble spread and cloud-cover variability keep the market balanced rather than favoring one narrow outcome. Updated NWS briefings and 00Z model runs on September 4 will provide the next key data points for resolution.
