Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a transition to northerly flow behind a frontal passage, promoting clearer skies and drier air over New York City by September 5. This setup favors radiational cooling overnight, with consensus forecasts placing the daily minimum in the mid-to-upper 60s °F at Central Park. Ensemble spreads remain wide due to uncertainties in cloud cover timing and boundary-layer mixing, which can shift the low by several degrees. Historical September climatology shows typical overnight lows near 62 °F, but current guidance leans slightly milder. Traders’ evenly distributed probabilities across 61–75 °F bins reflect this forecast variability ahead of updated model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion.
