Recent forecasts from NOAA-aligned models indicate the overnight low for September 2 in New York City will likely settle near 70–71°F amid persistent cloud cover, easterly flow, and elevated humidity that limits radiational cooling. These conditions stem from a warm, moist air mass with only modest diurnal temperature swings, keeping the daily minimum well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 65.5°F. Trader consensus reflected in the 68–71°F range (75% combined implied probability) aligns with this model consensus and the absence of any incoming cooler air or clear skies that would drive sharper overnight drops. Updated guidance through September 1 shows minimal shifts in steering patterns, supporting the current market positioning ahead of final observations.
