PQ leads recent Quebec polling averages near 30 percent with strong francophone support that favors seat efficiency, positioning the party for a likely majority under first-past-the-post rules ahead of the October 5, 2026 election. The CAQ’s sharp decline followed François Legault’s January 2026 resignation and ongoing scrutiny of prior economic initiatives, leaving new leader Christine Fréchette with limited recovery in August surveys. The PLQ under Charles Milliard sits close behind but trails in key regions outside Montreal. Minor parties remain marginal. Trader consensus reflects these sustained vote and seat projections rather than any single late-breaking event.
