This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed city records measurable precipitation on August 9. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Measurable precipitation means 0.01 inches or more as reported by the Weather Underground station page for the city. A report of trace ("T") does not qualify. Resolution is based on the station's first published precipitation figure for the day. Subsequent revisions or corrections to the published data will not be considered; the first published value is final. If no figure has been published by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to "No".Current NOAA and National Weather Service guidance for August 9, 2026, shows generally below-average precipitation probabilities across the central and northern Plains and Midwest, driven by persistent high pressure and a weak storm track that limits organized moisture transport. The Southwest and Four Corners region carry elevated chances tied to an active North American monsoon, with model consensus favoring scattered convective activity. Short-range WPC probabilistic guidance and 6–10 day outlooks indicate the highest near-term rain potential in parts of the Southeast and Northeast, where diurnal heating and frontal boundaries could trigger showers and thunderstorms. Updated model runs and daily NWS forecasts through the weekend remain the key inputs that could shift localized probabilities ahead of market resolution.
